Birthdays
are special at HanGawi!
Birthdays at HanGawi are celebrated in a special way.
At the end of the meal we strike a Korean gong several times and our wait
staff walks down the aisle with the birthday mocchi (rice cakes with a
birthday candle) to the birthday guests.
The staff sings a cheerful birthday wish and dresses the birthday guest
in a traditional Korean emperor's gown with elastic head dress for men
and either the bride or empress costume for women. A polaroid picture of
the birthday guest is then taken and presented in a special HanGawi
frame.
